Everything sits under a massive oak tree, which means shade...and that alone makes a huge difference in Florida.

Don’t Miss the family Splash Pad

There’s a splash pad right at the park, and it’s a must on warm days.

Bring:

  • Swimsuits or a change of clothes

  • Towels

  • Water shoes (optional, but helpful)

Even if your kids say they won’t get wet… plan like they will.

Make It a Half-Day Outing

This park is best when you don’t rush it. We went in the early evening, which was perfect for a causual picnic dinner, and a stroll around the lake. Tips below:

Pack a picnic and use the shaded tables, or bring a blanket for the grass. There’s plenty of space to spread out and relax while kids play.

When you’re ready for a change of pace, walk over to Lake Mirror. The open lawn is perfect for running around, and the historic promenade is one of the prettiest spots in Lakeland....lined with vintage lights and beautiful lake views.
