Since we moved to Southwest Florida, we've made it our mission to explore the region one family adventure at a time. If there's a free splash pad within driving distance, chances are we've visited it (or it's already on our list!).

We look for the things that matter most to parents: clean facilities, nearby playgrounds, shade, bathrooms, parking, and whether it's actually worth the drive with kids in tow.

This guide brings together the best free splash pads from the south of Tampa Bay area all the way down to Naples, so you can spend less time researching and more time making summer memories.

I've also included my favorite tips along the way to help you choose the right stop for your family.

Lincoln Pool & Splash Park – Palmetto

• Why we love it: Combo of splash pad and pool = double win.

• Bonus: Zero entry for littles, lifeguards on duty, and lots of shade.

• Pro tip: Check seasonal hours- it’s popular but worth the visit!

Bradenton Riverwalk Splash Pad – Bradenton

• Why we love it: Situated along the scenic Manatee River, this splash pad features multiple water jets and is adjacent to a playground, making it a perfect spot for kids to cool off and play.

• Bonus: The Riverwalk area includes shaded seating, picnic spots, and is within walking distance to local eateries and shops.

• Pro tip: Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., it's a great place to unwind after exploring downtown Bradenton.

Bayfront Park Splash Pad – Sarasota

• Why we love it: Waterfront fun with playgrounds and beautiful marina & bay views.

• Bonus: Great spot to watch dolphins or boats cruising by.

• Pro tip: Hit O’Leary’s Tiki Bar for snacks and shade.

Waterside Place Fountain – Lakewood Ranch

• Why we love it: Right next to a beautiful town square. Large playground right next to the splashpad. Several tables and shade. Probably the best on this list in terms of amenities.

• Bonus: Surrounded by food, music, and markets.

• Pro tip: Go on a Sunday to catch the farmer’s market too.

  
  

Parrish Community Park - Parrish

• Why we love it: There's a large playground right next to the splash pad, and a giant shade structure over a field (play ball, spread out on a blanket, etc). The splash pad area is large and has tons of variety.

• Pro tip: while the playground is amazing, it doesn't have much shade

  

  

  

Centennial Park Splash Pad – Downtown Venice

• Why we love it: Right in the heart of charming Venice. It's a bit small, but the location is super fun!

• Bonus: Walkable to boutiques and cafes.

• Pro tip: Grab a treat from Venice Avenue Creamery after!

Downtown Wellen Park Splash Pad – North Port/Venice

• Why we love it: It’s very small, but surrounded by shops, food, and shaded seating.

• Bonus: Live music, family events, and green space nearby.

• Pro tip: Pair it with Bright Ice ice cream or a visit to the nearby playground

  
  

McGuire Park Splash Pad – Port Charlotte

• Why we love it: Colorful, fenced, and designed just for kids.

• Bonus: Giant playground, shaded picnic areas, and whimsical touches.

The Laishley Park Splash Pad – Punta Gorda

• Why we love it: several different water features for the kids, a shaded seating area for adults

• Bonus: It’s right in downtown Punta Gorda, so you can combine it with lunch, etc

Palmetto Park Splash Pad - Babcock Ranch

• Why we love it: This super-sized splash pad features an overhead waterfall and is adjacent to a two-story treehouse-themed playground, providing endless fun for kids.

• Bonus: The park also includes shaded picnic shelters, a covered basketball court, and outdoor fitness equipment, making it ideal for a full day of family activities.

• Pro Tip: combine it with other parks and playgrounds along the Parkway.

River Park Splash Pad & Pool – Naples

• Why we love it: Quiet and residential, perfect for a low-key splash session.

• Bonus: Great for toddlers, with nearby shade and restrooms. Also has a POOL!

Jaycee Park, Cape Coral

• Why we love it: Brand new (and large!) park, river front.

• Bonus: food truck court coming soon!

• Pro tip: check the event calendar, as you might be able to combine a visit with a concert or event
